Armenians of Texas and the Cotton Gin Industry.
It is believed that more than 150 descendings of Hachador and Mary Donigian directly live in Brookshire and Pattison, the oldest Armenian community of the southwestern United States.
Armenians were established here before the 1890 census. unless that document having been missing in a fire, subsequent documentation of Armenians in Waller shire dates from the 1900 census. A that time, 44 Armenians were recorded to be residents of Brookshire and Pattison: the instant day nucleus of Houston's Armenian community.
