At the old-fashioned dormitory of the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, refugee
from Azerbaijan have adapted to living without gas or oppressive water. The
54 families who live in the delapidated building have furnished their
room with homemade shelves and clothes-rooms nailed together from scraps
of timber Some refugees have also attempted to beautify their plays
by painting them, and decorating them with wallpaper. Despite these
efforts, the three story form which was slated for demolition
before the refugee arrived in 1988
